"Sci Fi On The Rock II" is proud to present it's first ever, very special
guest of honor, JEREMY BULLOCH! Devotees of the 'Star Wars' legacy will
no doubt recognize his name as the man behind the mask of the infamous
bounty hunter, Boba Fett, a role that catapulted Bulloch into the upper
echelons of fandom! Bulloch portrayed the intriguing and mysterious
character originally in "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back".
The character was quickly embraced by fans and the mainstream media
alike, and led to Fett being featured prominently in both it's sequel,
"Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi", as well as enjoying the
opportunity to reshape the entire "Star Wars" mythos when it is revealed
in the prequel trilogy that Fett's father, Jango, was the template upon
which the evil Galactic Empire based their stormtroopers!
In addition to his contributions to the 'galaxy far, far, away', Jeremy
Bulloch also is recognized by fans as having appeared in two of the
greatest cultural imports that England has ever created, the legendary
television series "Doctor Who" and the spy thriller series "James Bond".
Bulloch's first appearance in "Doctor Who" was during that series'
infancy upon British television screens. In 1965, Bulloch played the
role of 'Tor', one of a band of determined rebels striking out against
evil invaders from the planet Morok in the episode "The Space Museum".
In this role, Bulloch interacted with the actor who portrayed the very
first 'Doctor', William Hartnell! His next appearance would come in
1973, in an episode called "The Time Warrior", this time opposite the
third actor to portray the legendary time traveler, Jon Pertwee.
Bulloch also would go on to appear in several other cult British
television series. In 1985, he guest starred in a series of episodes of
"Robin Of Sherwood", which at the time was the direct competition to
"Doctor Who" in the timeslot! He also 'crossed the pond' to appear in an
episode of the classic sitcom "Full House". Other very notable British
cult television guest star roles include appearing in the dark crime
drama "Casualty" and, more recently in 2002, he could be seen on A&E's
"Spooks" (in England known as "MI5").
Bulloch also appeared alongside 007 Roger Moore in two 'James Bond'
features, 1977's "The Spy Who Loved Me" and 1983's "Octopussy". Another
notable film role is his appearance in the cult WWII film "Swing Kids".
Jeremy Bulloch is known the world over for bringing such convincing life
to the bounty hunter Boba Fett, however this versatile actor's credits
and accomplishments are just as worthy of celebration. Join us as we
warmly welcome this special guest to our province!
