Welcome to the official Sci-Fi on the Rock website.
Sci-Fi on the Rock is pleased to announce it's newest guest Brian Downey!

Born in Newfoundland, Canada - seventeenth largest island in the world - Brian began performing not long after childbirth. Some people say that, actually, Brian was born wearing a top hat, singing an old Fred Astaire show tune, and telling the doctor the joke about the two old guys in an airplane. After years of asking for a guitar every Christmas, and getting a ukulele instead (Santa Glaus, apparently, was not a rock-and-roller), he finally bought the dam thing himself. He worked to master the instrument, and after several years realized he needed strings on the darn thing. Soon, Brian felt the need to form a musical group, play before an audience and change costumes frequently. He subsequently played in many bands, which eventually led to quite a collection of costumes , and this led Brian to being confused enough to begin acting. Acting and writing quickly replaced time spent strapped to musical instruments. He kept the straps, but sold the instruments to buy more costumes.
So now, Brian has co-written and performed many stage pfays, and toured extensively . He has appeared on many television and radio music shows. His first appearance on a dramatic television show was with legendary Canadian actor, Gordon Pinsent. Many others have followed. Brian has also written, directed and produced for radio, TV, and film. He has conducted workshops for actors, writers and directors. His work as an actor has been seen world wide. The TV series 'LEXX', in which Brian starred for 4 seasons, has been seen in more than 140 countries. Brian has played in over 60 stage plays, over many dozens of commercials, and over 80 TV shows and films, including "Millennium1, The Beachcombers', 'Gullage's', 'Secret Nation', George's Island', 'Culture Shock', 'Shattered City', The Conclave', 'October 1970', and, of course, LEXX.
